Osage Venture Partners Promotes Sean Dowling to Partner

Business News

Osage Venture Partners (OVP), a leading venture capital firm investing in early stage business-to-business software companies in the Eastern US, is pleased to announce that Sean Dowling has been promoted to Partner.

Sean joined OVP full time in 2011, after interning with the firm in 2010 while pursuing his MBA. Since that time he has played a leading or supporting role in many of the fund investments. Sean serves as a board member of BookKeeping Express, Brazen, Connected2Fiber, ExecOnline, and MarginEdge. He was a board member of TimelinePI through the company’s acquisition by ABBYY Software. Sean is also a board observer at indico, Noodle Partners, RackWare, RiskLens, and Sidecar, and was previously a board observer for GoCanvas and for Phone2Action until OVP’s successful exit from each. Sean holds leadership positions in and has been a speaker for organizations supporting the venture ecosystem, including the Philadelphia Alliance of Capital and Technology (PACT), Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA, and the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA).

Before business school, Sean spent five years as a strategy consultant at the Monitor Group in London and Boston where he served as a senior case team leader and member of Monitor’s marketing strategy group, m2c. Sean completed his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Economics.

“Over his time with OVP, Sean has demonstrated tremendous investment acumen and strategic thinking, provided significant value to our portfolio companies, established himself as a leader in the venture community, particularly in Philadelphia and Washington DC, and most importantly reflected the core values of our firm,” stated Nate Lentz, Managing Partner at Osage Venture Partners. “We are delighted to announce this much-deserved promotion, as Sean will be a key member of the leadership team of the future for OVP.”
