Group 1001, a leading financial services company, announced the addition of Tricia Borcherding as Vice President, Technology Governance and Walter Hjelmar as Vice President, Platforms and Cloud.
In the role of Vice President, Technology Governance, Borcherding will shape and oversee governance processes, technology controls and compliance, technology finance, and vendor management. As Vice President, Platforms and Cloud, Hjelmar will lead the Platforms team and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Borcherding has extensive experience in process improvement, project management, financial analysis, change management, and identifying, assessing, and managing enterprise risks. Borcherding most recently served as the Vice President of HR Shared Services at CNO Financial Group. She has held several other leadership roles at CNO Financial Group including Vice President of Operational Risk and Performance Management, Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management, and Vice President of Internal Audit.
Borcherding holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer information systems from Indiana University. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Life Management Institute Fellow.

With more than 30 years of IT experience, Hjelmar has held senior positions in strategy, engineering, operations, program management, web architecture, and enterprise management for organizations in the financial sector. Hjelmar joins Group 1001 from Synechron where he served as the Head of Consulting for North America. Prior to that, he was the Partner and Global Lead of Enterprise Transformation Competency for Citihub and held leadership roles at Morgan Stanley.
