sCrypt Inc., a company that developed a high-level Java Script-based language designed to build smart contracts on Bitcoin SV (BSV), announced a new smart contract transpiler designed to convert code written in Ethereum’s Solidity language into Bitcoin Script. Now, developers interested in building on Bitcoin SV can shift over to the program easily and in less than one hour.
An essential component to blockchain functionality, smart contracts are used to automate a workflow and ultimately trigger actions on-chain when predetermined conditions are met. Although smart contracts have historically taken as long as years to develop, sCrypt’s transpiler is designed to port existing smart contract code, which would include most of the heavy lifting.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for developers/coders to convert code written for the high gas fee Ethereum network over to the low fee and scalable Bitcoin SV network,” said Xiaohui Liu, Founder and CEO of sCrypt. “While learning, developers will gain insurmountable knowledge on the process of using Bitcoin Script.”
The BSV Bitcoin Association is a non-profit organization that brings together enterprises and developers in its blockchain ecosystem. Due to its scalability and extremely low transaction fees compared to other blockchain protocols, BSV recently reached 1 billion transactions in March, making it the world’s most used blockchain to-date.
“As a jumpstart development tool for ETH developers looking to explore and learn about writing smart contracts in Bitcoin Script on BSV, this tool is perfect for developers who started their careers programming on Solidity,“ said Patrick Prinz, Managing Director of BSV Bitcoin Association. “This tool does not just auto-convert all their programs over as a transpiler normally would, but also helps experienced programmers get their heads around starting to think in a ‘Bitcoin SV way.’”
